Breathe.
Whether you have a common respiratory infection, a complex or advanced lung disease, or lung cancer, you’re likely to visit a pulmonologist.
Pulmonologists treat diseases of the lungs. With the help of advanced new technologies, they can look inside your airways to determine exactly what’s going on. And then help you keep on breathing.
Glenn VanOtteren, MD, a pulmonologist with Spectrum Health Medical Group, talks about specialized care for patients with asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer and other conditions that affect your lungs.
Interesting! Do you know if this kind of care is available in the Seattle, WA area yet? I live in Auburn, WA about 30 miles from Seattle. ( I have no diagnosed problems) My Dad died from lung cancer when I was 14. He smoked Lucky Strikes most of his life. I have never been a smoker.
Hi Gail. Thanks for being a Health Beat reader! I’m not sure where all this is available other than Spectrum Health, but we do get patients from all around the world. I’m betting you could ask your pulmonologist for recommendations locally. 🙂
