RICHARD DEVOS HEART & LUNG TRANSPLANT PROGRAM

The most advanced solutions for heart and lung failure

Patients in West Michigan are able to stay closer to home when they need treatment for the most serious heart and lung conditions.

Spectrum Health offers the only full-service advanced heart failure and ventricular assist device (VAD) program in the region. VADs do the work for hearts that are not strong enough to function on their own. These mechanical devices are often used by patients while they await a heart transplant, or sometimes provide a better quality of life and enable patients to avoid transplantation. Our Heart & Lung Specialized Care Clinics treat more than 1,300* patients each year.

Patients in need of a heart or lung transplant can rest assured that they have access to world-renowned experts close to home. The Richard DeVos Heart & Lung Transplant Program offers world-class care through an experienced team that travels the transplant path with each patient, from evaluation and pre-operative care to surgery and follow-up care.
